Graham Royle, from Highfield Apiary, gives a talk on keeping bees and how we can help them in our gardens.

 

Monday 21st October 2019 – 'Autumn Harvests of Fruit and Vegetables'

David Allison, NVS member, brings a selection of fruit and vegetables from his garden.          Plants for sale.

 

Monday 18th November 2019 – 'Tiny plants and us'

Matt Wood gives an introduction to the world of small and dwarf plant forms.                       Plants for sale.

 

Monday 09th December 2019 (2nd Monday) Christmas Party

Ticket only with in-house catering and after dinner speaker.  Free raffle with lots of prizes.

 

Monday 20th January 2020 – 'Hardworking plants for the small garden'

Maureen Sawyer presents a personal selection of the very best trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses for the small garden.

 

Monday 17th February 2020 – ' Yes, we have no Galanthus'

A story of the humble Snowdrop. A talk from Steve Halliwell celebrating their annual reappearance and how we all seem to look forward to seeing them again, probably as they herald better and longer days ahead.

 

Monday 16th March 2020 – 'Allotment Gardening month by month'

John Bebbington gives advice on the best time to do the essential jobs for successful fruit and vegetable production.

 

Monday 20th April 2020 – 'The Ray Davies Memorial Show'

A splash of spring colour provided by plants/bulbs/trees grown in our gardens. Informal show, no entry fees/forms required, schedule available nearer the event.

 

Monday 18th May 2020 – 'Fabulous Flowers'

Paintings of flowers and gardens - local artist, Pam Smart, talks about her artwork. Pam will bring her cards, gifts and homeware range, featuring flowers and gardens, for sale.

 

Monday 15th June 2019 – 'Flower Power Fairs: The trials and tribulations of organising plant fairs'

Judy Popley with a humorous look at organising events, from finding beautiful gardens and venues to difficult customers and everything in between. Oh and the weather!!!!

 

Monday 20th July 2020 – 'I ate my last Herefordshire Russet This Morning'

An introduction to growing apple trees, including a demonstration of chip budding and practical advice, from James Ellson.                   Plants, honey & eggs for sale.

 

Saturday 08th August 2020 – 'Annual Horticultural Show'

Hazel Grove Methodist Church, Wesley St, Hazel Grove.

Flowers, Vegetables, Photo and Cookery Classes

Open to the public from 1pm – 3.30pm, prizes awarded at 3.30pm

Plants, refreshments and raffle 1pm – 3.15pm.

 

Monday 17th August 2020 – 'Annual General Meeting'
