Monday 17th September 2018 – 'The Making of Bridgewater'

Bridgewater will be the fifth RHS garden, opening in 2020. Sarah Witts, Walled Garden Manager, talks about the history of the site, future plans and progress to date.

 

Monday 15th October 2018 – 'Growing & Arranging seasonal cut flowers'

Alice and Andrea, from Delamere Flower Farm, give a talk and demonstration.

 

Monday 19th November 2018 – 'A Gentle Introduction to Orchids'

Leon Skorczewski, member of the North of England Orchid Society, shares his enthusiasm for these unusual plants.

 

Monday 10th December 2018 (2nd Monday) Christmas Party

Ticket only with in-house catering and after dinner speaker. Free raffle with lots of prizes.

 

Monday 21st January 2019 – 'Land, Outdoors and Nature at Lyme'

Chris Dunkerley, Head Ranger at Lyme Park, talks about his work in the National Trust Park.

 

Monday 18th February 2019 – 'A Country Walk'

Looking at the wild flowers of canal sides, rural gardens, meadows, woodland and coastal walks with Jane Allison, Mayfield Nursery.

 

Monday 18th March 2019 – 'Alpines'

Pottertons Nursery talk on the wide variety of alpines and how to grow them in your garden.

 

Monday 15th April 2019 – 'The Ray Davies Memorial Show'

A splash of spring colour provided by plants/bulbs/trees grown in our gardens. Informal show, no entry fees/forms required, schedule available nearer the event.

 

Monday 20th May 2019 – 'Hemerocallis in the Garden'

Advice and tips on their cultivation from Richard and Jill Rallings, Mynd Hardy Plants.

 

Monday 17th June 2019 – 'Fantastic Foliage'

Focussing on using foliage in the garden, rather than relying solely on flowers, from John Foley, Holden Clough Nursery.

 

Monday 15th July 2019 – 'Derbyshire's Historic Gardens'

Jeff Bates talks about the gardens, with slides.

 

Saturday 10th August 2019 – Annual Horticultural Show

Hazel Grove Methodist Church, Wesley St, Hazel Grove SK7 4JQ.

Flowers, Vegetables, Floral Art, Photo and Cookery Classes

Open to the public from 1pm – 3.15pm, prizes awarded at 3.30pm

 

Monday 19th August 2019 – 'Annual General Meeting'

Short AGM; your chance to give your views, opinions and ideas followed by:

Propagation – talk and demonstration from John Gare.
